Journal of Islamic Astronomy (JIA), the Indonesian Journal of the Islamic Astronomy, has been published since 2024, in accordance with SK PDII-LIPI with p-ISSN: xxx-xxx and e-ISSN: xxx-xxx. JIA is published by Penerbit Eclipse, in collaboration with Institut Agama Islam Negeri Metro, Lampung, Indonesia.  The JIA published 2 times of year (Juni and Desember), and published online by the end of the month of the edition. All published articles are available online and in print. These articles undergo the rigorous double-blind peer-review process. JIA will publish a manuscript that has never been published in any publication or no publication is being requested or considered by other media, in accordance with the ethics statement on the JIA.  JIA is an Open Access journal in print and online.

 

The JIA is a leading peer-reviewed and open-access journal, which publishes scholarly work of researchers and scholars from around the world, and specializes in the Social Sciences. At the beginning of publication (2013), the JIP was published only in the print version in each edition. Then, from 2014, in addition to publishing in print, JIP began to be published online that integrated directly with a website platform SCAD Independent. In order to have good quality articles, from 2014 until 2016 JIP processed online, using its own application system through the publisher panel form, and used email for correspondence between editor and reviewer. To improve the quality of international publications, since April 2017, JIP has increased its publication performance by using Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3 platform provided by PKP (Public Knowledge Project). For this journal, the workflow can be seen in the Chart about this Journal Publishing System.

 

The JIA specializes in the social sciences, which aims to represent and publish original research results and reviews in social science areas delivered by practitioners and researchers which had a significant impact and a real contribution to the community at large, practical and academic world. The journal also has a strong interest in the scientific development of theory that is of global significance. The JIA focuses on publishing the highest quality scientific articles that emphasize contemporary Asian issues with an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach. This journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars of related disciplines.

 

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. JIA as an Open Access Journal is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC-BY-SA) or an equivalent license as the optimal license for the publication, distribution, use, and reuse of scholarly works. Access permissions beyond the scope of this license may be available at digital libraries and open access journal databases.

 

JIA will publish a manuscript that has never been published in any publication or no publication is being requested or considered by other media, in accordance with the ethics statement on the JIA. The JIP has become a CrossRef Member. Therefore, all articles published will have a unique DOI number.

The JIA is under the auspices of the Penerbit Eclipse in collaboration with Institut Agama Islam Negeri Metro, Lampung, Indonesia. Penerbit Eclipse Independent is a scientific professional organization, and the publication has conducted research in various fields, such as social issues, education, democracy, politics, law, public policy, religion, and culture. Penerbit Eclipse Independent was founded in 2010 with Notary Deed No. 01, dated October 29, 2012. One of the visions is: “Provide a place for intellectuals to contribute to the development of Indonesia in particular and the world in general to a better direction”. Since 2014, Penerbit Eclipse Independent has been accredited by the International Accreditation Organization (IAO).
