The Journal of Islamic Astronomy invites researchers, scholars, and practitioners to submit their original research papers for the inaugural issue of Volume 1, 2024. This peer-reviewed journal aims to explore the rich heritage and contemporary advancements in Islamic astronomy, bridging historical perspectives with modern scientific inquiry.
Scope and Topics:
We welcome submissions on a broad range of topics related to Islamic astronomy, including but not limited to:
- Historical Astronomy: Studies on classical Islamic astronomical texts, instruments, and methodologies.
- Astrolabes and Celestial Mapping: Research on the development and use of astrolabes and other astronomical tools in the Islamic world.
- Mathematics and Astronomy: Contributions exploring the mathematical foundations of Islamic astronomical practices.
- Islamic Cosmology: Examination of cosmological models and theories in Islamic tradition.
- Astronomy and Islamic Culture: The influence of astronomy on Islamic culture, art, and philosophy.
- Modern Applications: Contemporary applications of traditional Islamic astronomical knowledge.
