Abstract

Tanjung Setia Beach Tourism is a world-class beach tourism in Indonesia with high waves. Tanjung Setia Beach Tourism has become a place for ISL (international surfing language) competitions approximately 5 times since 2014 with the competition, Tanjung Setia Beach Tourism is visited by many foreign tourists. As a result, many foreign cultures enter and can damage Indonesian culture, and almost the average foreign tourist visiting Tanjung Setia Beach Tourism has a religion other than Islam. For this reason, the focus of this research is to find out how the community empowers sharia tourism and maintains local culture so as not to be contaminated by foreign cultures. This research is a type of ethnographic research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources are obtained through the process of interviews, observation and documentation with data validity assurance techniques using source triangulation. The results of this study are that the Pekon Tanjung Setia community, especially in the Tanjung Setia Beach Tourism area, has conceptualized tourism empowerment with the concept of sharia tourism and has a strategy so that foreign cultures do not influence local culture and protect the nation's generation from the dangers of promiscuity.
